Mary Quant born in 1934 was to become one of the biggest names in British fashion and a true iconic designer. An instrumental figure in the 1960s Mod and youth fashion movements promoting these and other fun fashions including the mini skirt, hot pants & plastic wet-look designs she encouraged young people to dress to please themselves. Ernestine Carter a influential fashion journalist of the time, wrote: "It is given to a fortunate few to be born at the right time , in the right place, with the right talents, in recent fashion there have been three, Chanel, Dior & Mary Quant. The glasses feature the iconic daisy design of Quant that featured on all of her designs.
